Welcome to Kahiau Volleyball Club. Our name (pronounced Ka-He-Ou) translated from Hawaiian means “To give generously from the heart without expectation of return.” This is not only our name but it is our culture and our number one expectation of our coaches, players, parents, and extended families. Put others first and find your purpose by belonging to something bigger than yourself. We believe that volleyball is a platform for teaching many life lessons and building character traits that will help the young women and young men we serve to be successful in our constant changing world.
Our player/parent handbook is designed to educate you about our club, our coaching philosophy and how to be successful within Kahiau Volleyball Club. We hope this handbook will provide you information that will be useful to your decision on whether to play for Kahiau during the upcoming season.
Kahiau Volleyball Club is committed to:
* Teach young people to serve others through the game of volleyball
* Teach young people have a positive mental attitude, work ethic, and responsibility through goal setting
* Teach young people the game of volleyball at the highest level possible, using “random” practice model and let the game teach the game and the game teach life.
The Executive Board directs and oversees all activities within Kahiau VBC. The Board members will serve for 2 years and then will be replaced or re-elected. A Board member will serve no more than 6 consecutive years without taking a 2 year break.
